3 Years With James!

James turned 3 this month.  He's been looking forward to his birthday for a very, very long time.  He actually understands that he HAD his birthday, so that's a relief.

For fun we call him Jim-Bob-Joe
and James made up this poem:

Jim Bob Joe
What do you know?
you're a puppet show!

Here are some moments with The Dear Boy from the last year....
March

April--first haircut.

New sister

Easter

June--first trip to Hawaii
What he's like in the car

With the sisters

Summer at Grandma Olsen's

He loves puzzles

and loves dressing up

even with homemade costumes.
James reacts to mosquito bites sometimes.

Happy Halloween

Christmas fun.

James was the Star for the Christmas Program, and you have never seen anyone so serious about their part!

This year James had a Birthday Tree and we put his presents under it.

Smoothie for James's birthday breakfast.

James actually loves to wear Jammies, specifically his sleepers.  If you come by and we haven't gone anywhere yet that day James will be in his PJ's.  He loves to get  back into them right after dinner.  He also loves his blue hat from Grandma Brents, so she made him a new yellow hat. (his favorite color).  I'm surprised I don't have more pictures of him in his hats...he LOVES them.  and wears them no matter what the weather.

For several months (like 4) James has been talking about his birthday and how he will have a Yellow Duck birthday.  For over a week he was asking if I was making his cake today. "no James, I'll make your cake on your birthday."

We ate at Texas Roadhouse (James's choice) for his birthday dinner and then had a fantastic party with our friends the Pernula family, who have a boy named James too!

James today in his average state...sleeper, hat, animal.......check, check, check.
WE love you James!!!
